You Do Not Need a Separate Pattern Maker
One of the most common friction points in garment production is managing multiple service providers at the same time. A designer for your concept, a pattern maker for your block, a sampling studio for your prototype, and a manufacturer for your bulk order. Each handoff introduces risk miscommunication, inconsistency, delays. At Decide Fashion, pattern making is handled in-house as part of your production process. If you are producing with us, your patterns are developed by the same team that will manufacture your garments. No briefing a separate studio, no chasing external pattern makers, no translation errors between design and production.
Who Our Pattern Making Service Is For
✔️ Brands and buyers producing with Decide Fashion who need pattern development as part of their project
✔️ Founders who have a design ready but need a production-grade pattern developed before sampling begins
✔️ Designers moving from concept to physical sample for the first time
✔️ Brands reproducing or refining an existing style who need pattern work before bulk production
✔️ Buyers who want all production stages handled by a single partner
Pattern making at Decide Fashion is available for clients with a confirmed production order of 100 pieces or more per style.

What You Need to Start
You do not need a finished tech pack to begin the pattern making process. We work from whatever you have.
✔️ A Sketch: Hand drawn or digital. We interpret your design intent and develop the construction from there
✔️ A Reference Image: A photo or reference showing the style and silhouette you are working toward
✔️ A Physical Sample: An existing garment you want reproduced, refined, or graded into additional sizes
✔️ A Tech Pack: A detailed technical document with measurements, construction notes, and specifications
✔️ A Combination: Many clients bring a mix of the above. We work with what you have and fill in the gaps
What Our Pattern Making Service Includes
Block Development
We develop the base pattern block for your garment from your design input. The block establishes the foundational silhouette, fit, and construction logic that all subsequent work builds from.
Grading
Once the base block is confirmed, we grade the pattern across your required size range. We work across all standard sizes and custom size ranges based on your target market and fit requirements.
Fit Correction
If your existing pattern or reference garment has fit issues, we identify and correct them before sampling begins. Fit corrections at the pattern stage are significantly less costly than discovering problems after bulk production.
Technical Drawing
We produce technical flat drawings of your garment for use in your tech pack, production documentation, and supplier communication. Technical drawings ensure construction details are communicated accurately across every stage of production.
Digital and Physical Patterns
We produce both digital patterns using CAD software and physical patterns depending on your production requirements. Digital patterns are precise, easy to store, and straightforward to update. Physical patterns are available where required by the production process.
Garment Categories
Pattern making at Decide Fashion covers all garment categories we manufacture.
✔️ Knitwear
✔️ Denim
✔️ Activewear
✔️ Woven Jackets and Overjackets
✔️ Shirts and Overshirts
✔️ Workwear

Why Pattern Making In-House Matters
Consistency From Pattern to Production
When the same team develops your pattern and manufactures your garment, the construction intent is never lost in translation. The pattern maker understands how the factory will interpret every detail, and the production team works from a pattern they were involved in developing.
Faster Problem Solving
If a fit issue appears during sampling, the pattern maker is in the same building as the production team. Adjustments are made quickly, without waiting for an external studio to respond.
One Point of Contact
Pattern development, sampling, and bulk production are coordinated by the same team. You communicate with one partner throughout the entire process.
No Minimum for Pattern Work Separately
Pattern making is included as part of your production partnership. You do not pay a separate agency or minimum for pattern services on top of your production costs.
The Pattern Making Process
1. Design Input
Share your sketch, reference image, tech pack, or physical sample. We review your design intent and discuss fit requirements, size range, and construction details.
2. Block Development
We develop the base pattern block from your design input. This establishes the foundational silhouette and construction logic for your garment.
3. Grading
The confirmed block is graded across your required size range. Size specifications are confirmed based on your target market.
4. Technical Drawing
We produce technical flat drawings of your garment for production documentation and reference.
5. Sampling
The pattern moves directly into sample development. A prototype is ready in approximately 14 days.
6. Fit Correction if Required
If fitting review reveals adjustments, we update the pattern and produce a revised sample. We continue until you approve.
Fabric and Certification Standards
All fabrics used in sampling and production are sourced by our team.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
Every component of the finished garment is tested for harmful substances. A baseline requirement for brands selling into European markets.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)
For brands that require certified organic production from raw material to finished garment.
GRS (Global Recycled Standard)
For brands working with recycled content. Verifies recycled material claims and tracks the chain of custody from source to finished garment.
